What would be the best DLC: part 2
What would be the best DLC: part 2
Follwing my first edition (http://www.skyrimhub.blogspot.com/2011/12/what-would-be-best-dlc-part-1.html) which included my ideas on online play some of you may be happy to hear this is not an idea involving online play.
Has anyone ever seen a dwemer? no we haven't. We cant. We venture through skyrim and the dwemer ruins fascinated by the wonders of their work but they died out for some reason unknown to us. So why not bring a dwemer into the game? the quest for it could be called the 'last dwemer' or whatever the skyrim geeks at Bethesda can think of.
Daedric dlc? we all remember the shivering isles (in my eyes a bit dissapointing) but heck who doesn't love creepy daedric worlds?: I certainly do. But maybe you could become a daedra? this is something i've always wanted to do and wants funner than walking round with horns and a red face?. Of course there would be perks associated with being a daedra but just reeking havoc on the innocent menfolk of skyrim would be enough for me.
Theres allot of water but all the boats don't sail? I mean its about time boats could be used in skyrim, im not asking for actually being able to sail the boats or in-depth animations of it but at least experiment with it. Using boats means another means of travel and more quests (and don't forget the pirates!).
Have I missed anything you'd want?

What would be the best DLC: Part 1
Bethesda's last Elder Scrolls game Oblivion saw lots of Dlc's varying in sizes, the biggest being the Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine. There will be DLC's for Skyrim so this got me thinking 'What would the best DLC be'.
Well theres lots of little things Bethesda could add to skyrim to make it more enjoyable like they did in Oblivion with the little DLC's where you got your own castle, mages tower or a powerful sword. But the best DLC's were obviously the larger more substantial ones (although I really found the Shivering Isles boring).
My first idea for the 'best' DLC is online play. Now bear with me I know when an Elder Scrolls fan hears the word 'online' and Elder Scrolls' in the same sentence they go weak at the knees but there is logic in this madness. Im not talking about an online open world type gameplay, no that would be too much like runescape and would be way too big a scale of a job to do for Bethesda. Im talking about an online 'Arena' based on the Imperial citys' arena from Oblivion, you could take your player online and fight your friends settling the disputes we all have about who is the best.
Being an Elder scrolls fan myself I would love this as an aspect of the game obviously they would have to tweak alot of things but I think it could be really enjoyable. Game modes could be extermely interesting aswell like Team Matches, free for alls, 1v1 or maybe even survival modes where you and your friends have to survive waves of various enemies like COD's nazi zombies.
Let me know what you think as I would really like to know what fellow Elder Scrolls fans think!

If you live in the UK your in luck!
Citizens of the United Kingdom you are the envy of the rest of the world (well atleast the skyrim loving part of it). Skyrim has been lowered to a staggering 22 Birtish pounds when it was retailing at around 40-45 pounds, It is retailed at this price in practically all stores due to them lowering them to be able to compete with competitors.
Dont miss out go buy it now!

5 reasons why skyrim is awesome
We all know skyrim is without a doubt the most breathtakingly epic game in terms of size and diversity but I thought I would list the five MOST important reasons.
1. Dragons!!
Yes this year we saw the popular dragons appear as the main storyline in skyrim, whislt some people might find being attackd by a dragon annoying ,(probably the damn dumner), im sure the hardy adventurer in all of us relished the chance to strike down a dragon especially being the dragonborn. Being the dragonborn we also get to absorb the soul of the dragon which makes killing dragons that more rewarding.
2. 'I used to be an adventurer like you until I took an arrow to the knee'
3. You literally cannot complete the game
Skyrim is said to have over 300 hours worth of playing time already built in, a mighty feat for any die hard Elder Scrolls fan. But the new feature is 'Radiant story line' which is where the game creates quests for you based on waht your doing. For example if your on your way to Solitude and you pass a cave you have not been in an NPC in solitude may ask you to retrieve a family artifact from the cave. The only downside being some quests can be repetitive but not in the way they were in Oblivion because the dungeons do differentiate this time.
4. Skyrim functions like an actual world
Travel into the wilderness of skyrim and you will probably find alot of wild animals who surprisingly are acting like wild animals. Wolves hunting elk, giants herding mammoths and also hunters hunting the animals. The NPC's and creatures dont just feel like they are there to kill you or give you a quest they actually have some purpose in skyrim and creatures like Giants and Mammoths aren't just there to kill you they are generally quite peacefull (apart when their terrorising farmers for their livestock).
When i was researching skyrim before it came out I read alot about Skyrim's 'economy', now I can see it in place when bartering with shopkeepers because obviously the more of a product the cheaper. But I read that say for example if you were too kill the livestock in the area the demand for food would be higher but Ihaven't really seen this happen (if its worked for you please comment below and let me no!).
5. You can be whatever you want
Yes this was relevant in previous elder scrolls games but its MUCH improved. No longer at the beginning of the game do we select our main skills and star signs determening your character for the rest of the game there is now none of that. Instead you just pick how you look and your name and as you play you develop into what you do the most, for example if you run around with a sword at arms length at all time you will become a competent warrior in either one handed or two handed weaponry and whatevr armour you wear. And it is the same for all skills on the game.
The thing that makes it better though is the face that if you get bored of going round decapitating bandits with your sword then you can simply switch to magic and it also develops the same as your warrior skills unlike in oblivion when you had the dreaded 'Main skills'. So you simply switch to magic and set thhir head alight.

Some of you who haven't played skyrim might be thinking this is completely irrelivant but I promise you its not. This craze has taken over youtube with hundreds of videos being uploaded of the skyrim guards famous catchline, my favourite being the ace ventura one (see the video below).
So next time your in the province of skyrim why not stop by the local barracks and shoot a guard in the knee, im sure it'll make his day.
